The Berlin Wall

The last monday, Christina come to our class and did an exposition about the Berlin wall.  The Berlin wall divided Berlin from 1961 to 1989 and it was initiated by the GDR (German democratic republic). It divided in Germany de soviet union and 3 sectors: American sector, british sector and french sector. Demolition began on 13 june of 1990 and was completed on 1992. The first reason was to separate de capitalism and comunism in Germany. She said to us the eastern side had more money so the wall prevent the western side to move. People in the west went to the other part to buy because everything were cheaper. In 1960, 199188 refugees come to the west. Then, she also explained the plans and the living conditions.
